All jokes aside, you can’t help admit that all these obscure pictures of Eri hiding (except for Miki’s photo, thank you Miki!) makes her look like a ghost who snucked into the picture. And this new set of pictures is no different.

Now 3 Momusu members including her former fellow rokkie members, Sayumi and Reina, have posted pictures with Eri.

From Sayumi’s blog (link), she posts about going to the final showing of the musical “Reborn ~Inochi no Audition~” and Eri came too. She says it’s the first time seeing Eri in a long time.

Reina posts a similar picture (link) on her blog, tagging everyone in the picture, even using Eri’s old assigned color orange! She posts that Eri was using her hair straightener before and after the musical.

Everyone seems to love the Rokkies reunion, even fanart has been made about Eri’s appearances.

New pictures of Eri have been posted thanks to her younger sister Rina and MM’s new leader Niigaki Risa. First picture is from Rina’s blog (link). She recently just had her 19th birthday over the weekend and presented her giant birthday melonpan(!) But that’s not all, she then poses with that giant melonpan with none other than her big sis, Eri! Their familial resemble is uncanny as each sister sports long black hair and straight bangs. It’s almost as if we’re seeing double. =P

Hope they enjoyed that. XD Next picture comes from MM’s new leader Niigaki Risa’s blog (link). She posted that Eri has come to stay over at her place and posts a pic of herself and Eri, or rather, Eri’s hand. She even captions it to point out that it’s Eri. LoL

It makes me wonder if the company is not allowing any pictures posted of former members despite that Eri’s no longer under UFA’s contract. Perhaps Eri simply just doesn’t want pictures of her posted and will allow only certain ones posted.  But a hidden Eri is better than no Eri. It’s great to see that Gakikame are still close with each other. So nice to see Eri after not seeing her since her graduation.

Somebody tweeted Tsunku about if Eri would return to which he replied that she has been contacted a few times and has recovered significantly from her illness. But does not answer about any return.

Better than nothing, as they say. It’s great news to hear that she’s recovering well.

Next, on September 30th, one of Morning Musume’s longtime member and leader Takahashi Ai has graduated from the group as well as Hello! Project. From several fan accounts who have attended the graduation said they have spotted Eri in the audience. They described her as having longer black shoulder length hair. She came with her mother and sat in the same row with other former MM members Yossi, Makoto, and Miki. She was seen crying just as hard as the members on stage during the graduation ceremony. And Reina mentioned in her blog that some of the OG members, including Eri, attended the concert.

It’s great to hear that Eri is still keeping in touch with the other members and vice versa. We were beginning to be afraid that she had disappeared all together, but thanks to all these tiny updates and accounts about her, we can only hope that one day she will return to the entertainment business.

Former Morning Musume Kamei Eri Appears on Fujimoto Miki’s Blog 「So cute, just as I thought」

The appearance of a photo on Fujimoto Miki’s blog of former Morning Musume member Kamei Eri has become a hot topic among fans.

Present at Takahashi Ai’s Morning Musume graduation performance on September 30th 2011 were OG members Fujimoto Miki, Goto Maki and Ogawa Makoto. Fujimoto took a photo of all of them gathered together and in that photo Kamei Eri, who had graduated last year, appeared.

Her hair has gotten a bit longer since her graduation, but she was just doing a peace sign pose with that unchanging smiling face. Fujimoto wrote 「Just like me, it’s the 6th gen member Kamei Eri. We’ve exchanged mail but I was happy since we haven’t met since her graduation concert.」

Kamei Eri graduated from Morning Musume quoting the reason as trying to cure her atopic dermatitis, but it seemed as if she was retiring from the entertainment business. Even though her name appeared in blogs, seeing her picture was extremely rare.  Many on the net wrote「I’m glad she hasn’t changed」「I couldn’t see my monitor through the tears」「Just as I thought, she’s still cute. Hurry and heal up so you can return!」

Glad to hear that everyone still loves Eri!

Origin: I made up this word back around late 2003. It was inspired by the September 26, 2003 FUN show where Eri was picked from Sakura Gumi as the member most likely to communicate with aliens. Upon realizing Eri’s weird character I simply used the combining wordplay of “Eri” and “aliens” to describe anything weird by Eri. The word soon caught on on various English Morning Musume forums I participated in and eventually the word also became known for people who are fans of Eri, especially the weird ones (like me, LoL).

Although Eri’s erien habits have died down during her later years in Momusu, she will always be their Ichiban Hen (weird) member.

BTW, the Featured Image came from a short comic I drew of myself and my fantasy encounter with Eri. LoL It was obviously drawn during her short hair phase.

Sorry for the lack of updates and no, the site didn’t die again. If you didn’t read my last post on Twitter a few weeks ago, I am in the middle of moving to another location which is the reason for lack of updates. I am almost finished settling down and getting situated, and once I find a decent place to put my Kamei-filled hard drive, I’ll have this site running again!
